1. Are you licensed, and can I check it?
Ask for the roofer’s license number and look it up yourself. Pineapple Roofing is RCAT Licensed #03-0637, and you can verify it with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas.
2. Do you have a local office?
A local office means someone you can reach after the job is done. Our Lewisville office is at 4400 State Hwy 121, Suite 300.
3. Will I get photos and a written report?
You should see what the roofer sees. We photograph the roof and give you a written condition report, so you can make your decision with the evidence in front of you.
4. What exactly is in the written scope?
Get the materials, the work to be done and the clean-up plan in writing before work starts. Vague estimates lead to disagreements later.
5. How do you handle insurance claims?
Be careful with any contractor who promises your claim will be approved or offers to cover your deductible. In Texas a contractor cannot pay, waive or rebate your deductible. A good roofer documents the damage; your insurance company decides coverage.
6. Who will be on my roof, and who do I call with questions?
Ask who manages the job day to day and how you will get updates.
7. What happens if something goes wrong after the job?
Ask what warranty or workmanship guarantee comes with the work, get it in writing, and keep it with your home records.
