PVC roofing is a single-ply membrane system used on flat and low-slope commercial buildings. Pineapple Roofing installs and repairs PVC roofs, and our team has completed Duro-Last installation training.

What is PVC roofing?

PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride. A PVC roof is a flexible membrane that covers the roof in a single layer, with the seams joined by heat so they become one continuous surface. Some systems are fabricated to the measurements of the roof before they arrive on site, which reduces the amount of seaming done on the roof itself.

Where PVC is often used

PVC resists many chemicals, oils and grease, which is why it is often considered for buildings with rooftop kitchen exhaust, restaurants, food service, and light industrial uses. It is also a reflective, light-colored surface that helps limit heat gain.

What to know before you choose it

PVC repair and maintenance

Punctures, failed seams and worn flashing can often be repaired without replacing the whole roof. Regular inspections, especially after storms, help catch small problems early.

Our experience

Our team completed Duro-Last installation training in 2023, and Pineapple Roofing is RCAT Licensed, License #03-0637. See all of our commercial roofing services, or compare it with TPO roofing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PVC and TPO?

Both are single-ply membranes with heat-welded seams. PVC is often chosen where chemicals, oils or grease are a concern. The better choice depends on the building and its use.

Can PVC roofs be repaired?

Often, yes. It depends on the age and condition of the membrane and the extent of the damage.

Is PVC only for large buildings?

No. It is used on a range of flat and low-slope roofs. An inspection will show whether it is a good fit.
