Gutters move every drop of rain off your roof and away from your foundation. In Lewisville, where heavy spring storms can drop a lot of water in a short time, gutters that sag, leak or overflow can lead to fascia rot, stained siding and water pooling against the slab. This guide covers what to check before you replace your gutters and how we look at them.

Signs your gutters need repair or replacement
- Water spilling over the front edge during rain, even when the gutters are clean
- Sections pulling away from the fascia or sagging between hangers
- Rust, cracks or open seams at the corners
- Peeling paint or soft, dark wood on the fascia board behind the gutter
- Downspouts that empty right next to the foundation, or washed-out soil and mulch below them
Check the roof edge at the same time
Gutter problems and roof-edge problems often show up together. Damaged drip edge, worn shingles along the eaves, or debris washing off the roof can all overload a gutter. That is why our inspection covers the gutters, downspouts, fascia and the first few feet of the roof as one system. You get photos of what we find and a plain-English explanation of the options.
Repair or replace?
A single loose hanger or a leaking corner can often be repaired. When sections are rusted through, the slope is wrong along a whole run, or the fascia behind the gutter is rotted, replacement usually makes more sense. We show you the photos and explain which option the evidence supports. You decide.
What we look at during a gutter inspection
- Gutter size and slope toward each downspout
- Seams, corners and end caps for leaks
- Hanger spacing and how firmly the gutter is fastened to the fascia
- Downspout placement and where the water ends up
- Fascia, soffit and drip edge condition
